My Teaching Philosophy
At Go Guitar Lessons, my focus is simple: helping you make music that matters to you. While I believe theory and technique are essential tools for any musician, I never teach them in isolation.
Every lesson is built around real-world application—you won’t just learn scales, chords, or exercises for the sake of it. You’ll learn how to use them in songs, riffs, solos, and songwriting, so they become part of your playing, not just ideas on paper.
Whether we’re working through a blues progression, building fingerstyle accuracy, or understanding chord construction, the goal is always the same: to give you practical skills you can use immediately—whether you’re jamming, recording, writing, or performing live. For those looking to take a graded exam, I offer Rockschool or LCM, from grade one through to Diploma level in both guitar, electric and acoustic, and bass. I also offer ukulele lessons, this is often a good gateway into the guitar for the very young student.
Music is meant to be played, not just studied. I make sure every student walks away from their lesson with something they can use, enjoy, and build on.
Lessons take place at my studio in Shepshed. I offer 30 minutes, recommended for young children or if you are a relative beginner, or 1hr. Prices are £15 for 30 minutes or £28 for 1hr.
