About Me . . .
Meet George Odom, an experienced guitar teacher in Shepshed and Loughborough with 30+ years of playing and 15 years of teaching experience. Learn how real-world experience shapes every lesson at Go Guitar Lessons.
I’ve helped students of all ages, from 8 to 80, build confidence, creativity, and real skill on the guitar. I hold Grade 8 qualifications in both electric and acoustic guitar, along with a DipLCM diploma from the London College of Music. Currently, I teach in several schools around the Loughborough area and give private lessons from my studio in Shepshed.
As a performer, I’ve spent over 25 years playing in both original and cover bands, taking the stage for thousands of gigs across a wide range of styles—from blues and rock to pop, funk, and acoustic sets. That real-world experience shapes every lesson I teach: it’s about making the music work in your hands, not just on paper.
Whether you’re a complete beginner, or someone looking to improve their skills further, I offer structured, personalised lessons that balance music theory, technique, and creativity. And as a songwriter and member of The Wry Dogs, I stay grounded in the musical world I teach in.
